President's Message
Hello and a warm welcome to the Branch 15 web page on the District 2 website.
I am a retired Royal Canadian Navy Veteran and it has been my greatest pleasure to be the President of Branch 15 since 2013.
We are currently a small branch with approximately 40 members, however that does not discourage us in any way. We are extremely
active in our lovely town of Harbour Grace, and we take much pride in doing so.
Branch 15 was
initially started in Harbour Grace by the Great War Veterans Association in 1922. We recently celebrated our 100th aniversary, which
makes us amongst the oldest branches in the province and country. We were granted our charter as the Royal Canadian Legion
Branch 15 in 1950. We have a long history of service to our veterans and community.
Through many challenges
over the years Branch 15 has overcome and surpassed all expectations. We honour our Centennial Service this year with the Banner Project
in our beautiful Memorial Park, we re-dedicated our Cenotaph this past Nov 11th, and this past July we embarked upon placing 100 wooden
crosses and flags on veterans' graves throughout the five Cemeteries in town.
We recognize all veterans, and our
doors are always open to new members.
Our building is currently under construction and we have great things
happening there. If you are interested in a great group of not only volunteers and friends, but family, please get in contact
with me.
Many Blessings enjoy the site.
In Service,
Paulette Morrissey, CD
