Branch 9 Spaniard's Bay (Corporal Matthew Brazil) officially became part of the Royal Canadian Legion in 1951. We are an immensely proud organization with 98 members with a rich history.
Our branch is quite active sponsoring/hosting a myriad of functions and enjoys a great relationship with neighbouring communities. There is a strong connection with Holy Redeemer Elementary, the local school of the community.

On Saturday, March 16th, 2024 Comrade Johnny Pauls of Spaniard's Bay was celebrated for his longevity, wartime service and commitment to the legion. More than 130 people gathered at Branch 9 to pay tribute to the former merchant mariner, known affectionately in Spaniard's Bay as "Uncle." Comrade Pauls witnessed the conclusion of the war in 1945 and has outlived all but a handful of those who survived the horrors of the deadliest conflict in history.
